When diagnosed with the condition - inflamed cervix, cervical dysplasia is often suspected, although most causes of this condition are from STDs and human papillomavirus. Cervicitis is an inflammation and irritation of the cervical surface. Symptoms of cervicitis are pain and itching during the intercourse, a bloody discharge, spotting or bleeding from the vagina between periods. This condition is usually caused by STDs, such as gonorrhea and chlamidia. When diagnosed with the condition - inflamed cervix, cervical dysplasia is often suspected, although most causes of this condition are from STDs and human papillomavirus.

If the cervicitis has spread to the uterus, fallopian tubes or ovaries, this disorder is called pelvic inflammatory disease, which is much more dangerous and may lead to infertility and severe pain. To diagnose this condition pelvic examination is used.
