Cervix Biopsy
Cervix biopsy is preferred before treating abnormal tissue with cryotherapy, and if vulvar vestibulitis is present it should be monitored.
It is a surgical procedure (called also cervical conozation) for detecting and treating problems in the cervical area. It is usualy done if a Pap smear test and a colposcopy exam show abnormal cells. During the procedure the abnormal tissue is removed and examined.

The operation is done with anesthesia. The doctor puts a speculum into the vagina and cuts a piece of the tissue with a knife or with a laser. Possible complications are: incomplete removal of abnormal tissue, severe bleeding, infection, cervical scarring.
