Effaced Cervix
Effaced cervix is normal during pregnancy; however, cervical cancer can affect hormonal responsiveness, but is diagnosed from a cone biopsy.
Cervical effacement is the thinning of the cervical opening in preparation for birth. It is expressed in percentages: if you begin pushing, the effacement is 100%. The effacement and dilation can begin a month before the delivery, or it can wait until the last few hours.

Effaced Cervix -

After the effacement cervical dilatation (opening) begins, rated from 0 to 10 cm. Incompetence is a condition when dilation and effacement begins before the pregnancy has reached term. Occuring in the second or third trimester, it may be the cause of late miscarriage or premature birth.
