Cervical Discharge

Cervical discharge is normal and not does not necessarily indicate cervical dysplasia caused by HPV infections. Substance from the vagina. may vary in consistency (thick, thin, pasty), color (clear, colored), and smell (normal, odorless, malodorous). It is common and normal for women of child bearing age. Glands of the cervix produce a clear mucus secretion that drains downward, mixing with bacteria and discrded vaginal cells. Cervical discharge is normal and not does not necessarily indicate cervical dysplasia caused by HPV infections.

These substancies may turn the mucus a whitish color (leucorrhea) and it turns yellowish when exposed to air. There are times throughout the menstrual cycle that the glands of the cervix produce more mucus. This is normal and means the readiness for conceiving.
