Moderate and severe stages can lead to invasive cancer and immediate treatment is necessary. It can be electrocauterization or LEEP, cryosurgery and cryocauterization, laser vaporization or ablation and cone biopsy. In very severe cases hysterectomy (removing the uterus) may be necessary.
