Diabetes may benefit from Beta-mannan™ use
Aloe vera may eliminate the need for oral hypoglycemic drugs in certain Type 2 diabetics. About 75% of diabetics are treated with oral hypoglycemic drugs, rather than insulin shots, to control their blood sugar. These are type 2 diabetics or people with NIDDM (non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus). These drugs greatly increase their risk of heart attacks and strokes.
In the Angiology study, of the five thousand patients selected, two-thirds of these patients had non-insulin dependent diabetes and were being treated with oral hypoglycemic drugs. More than 93% of the patients experienced subjective and objective improvement in symptoms, blood chemistries, and EKG's. All of the diabetics in the Angiology study were originally taking the oral drugs. However, gradually their blood sugar levels came down to normal. In fact, after taking Aloe vera for two months, 94% of the 3,167 diabetics stopped their oral hypoglycemic drugs and controlled their blood sugar with diet alone. Not one patient experienced a hypoglycemic episode (abnormally low blood sugar) during the study.
This is very encouraging, but it is just the tip of the iceberg of possible benefits for diabetics.
Aloe prevents serious diabetic complications. Atherosclerosis severely afflicts diabetics. Clogged arteries increase their suffering and death rate from such ailments as angina, heart attacks, strokes, gangrene, amputations, neuropathy, blindness, and kidney failure. Over half usually die of a heart attack and the risk of a stroke is 250% more likely than in non-diabetics.
Since these complications are a result of atherosclerosis, it appears that many of these problems may be prevented. Based on the results of the Angiology study, many complications are reversible.
All patients were instructed to take 100 grams of fresh Aloe vera gel daily. This is equivalent to the same amount of Beta-mannan™ contained in 3-4 capsules.
It is recommended that diabetics take 2-4 capsules of Beta-mannan™ per day and keep a close watch on their blood sugars the first couple of days.
